Historique :	La statue funéraire, recueillie de l'abbaye de Maubuisson, près de Pontoise, fut déclarée par Lenoir représenter Blanche de Castille, régente de France après la mort de Louis VIII et mère du futur saint Louis. La reine avait effectivement été inhumée en 1252 dans l'abbaye qu'elle avait fondée et un document de 1255 (relatif à l'achat à Tournai d'une pièce de marbre noir) a paru corroborer à cette interprétation. Mais des descriptions peignent la dalle de Blanche en cuivre. On a donc pensé reconnaître dans la gisante Catherine de Courtenay (1274-1307) qui fut impératrice de Byzance par son premier mariage, avant de devenir la seconde épouse du comte Charles de Valois et belle-soeur de Philippe le Bel. Elle épousa en 1302 Charles de France, comte de Valois. Mais il n'est pas certain qu'elle reposât à Maubuisson. Autre hypothèse vraissemblable, celle de Mahaut, comtesse d'Artois et de Boulogne, morte en 1329, sans preuve.
